This is the wall behind you on a sunny afternoon: light coming through leaves, a blind or a window, landing in soft patches that drift as the branches move. The trick to it isn’t the pattern — it’s that the sunlit parts and the shaded parts are different *colours*, not just different brightnesses. Sunlight is warm; the shade isn’t unlit, it’s lit by the blue of the sky. Get that one relationship right and almost anything reads as real daylight.
