CRT
Puts the layers below on a tube screen — scanlines, phosphor and curved glass, or worn VHS tape
Old televisions didn't show a picture so much as paint one: an electron beam swept the screen line by line, lighting tiny red, green and blue phosphor stripes behind curved glass. This layer puts everything beneath it back on that screen, with the dark gaps between the lines, the coloured grid you can see up close, the bulge of the glass and its rounded corners. Switch it to VHS and the picture plays off a worn tape instead: colour smears sideways past its edges, bands of lines wobble as the tracking slips, and snow speckles over it all.

II. Everything else
- Blob Tracker — Locks targeting marks onto what moves below
- Contour — Detects edges with a Sobel filter and draws them as clean outlines
- Dither — Ordered dithering of the layers below (duotone or reduced color)
- Glitch — Row displacement and scanline injection
- Glyph Dither — ASCII/glyph rendering of the layers below, by brightness
- Grain — Film grain noise, optionally animated
- Halftone — Rebuilds the image as a rotated grid of ink dots, lines or squares
- Pixelate — Snap coordinates to a coarse block grid
- Posterize — Quantize luminance into a flat color palette
- Subdivide — Break the layers below into blocks that keep splitting, by chance or by detail
- Topo Lines — Draws contour lines through the layers below, like a topographic map of their brightness
