Posterize
Quantize luminance into a flat color palette
Posterizing throws away the in-between shades and snaps everything to a small set of flat colors. Without smooth transitions you get bold, banded blocks — the silkscreen / propaganda-poster feel. Fewer colors, more graphic punch.
